Install for Windows

Install the MinkMap desktop helper app on Windows to connect your iOS device.

The MinkMap helper is a lightweight background app that lets your browser communicate with your iOS device over USB or WiFi. You need to install and run it before you can connect a device.

Windows

1. Download the installer

   Download MinkMapHelperInstaller.exe

2. Run the installer

   Double-click MinkMapHelperInstaller.exe to start the installer.

   If Windows shows a “Windows protected your PC” SmartScreen warning:

   1. Click More info.
   2. Click Run anyway.

   This prompt appears because the installer is not yet widely distributed. The app is safe to run. If you prefer, you can verify the file’s checksum before proceeding.

3. Follow the setup wizard

   Work through the installer steps:

   1. Click Next on the welcome screen.
   2. Read and agree to the license agreement.
   3. Choose an installation folder (the default is fine for most users).
   4. Click Install and wait for the installation to complete.
4. Confirm the helper is running

   The helper launches automatically in the background after installation. The MinkMap page in your browser will detect it and allow you to connect a device.
